Dorothy Davies is an accredited music therapist (MTA) in good standing with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT). She founded Cornerstone Music Therapy based on her vision to provide support and care for people of all ages and abilities on their journey of realizing potential and shaping health through music.
Dorothy received her Bachelors of Music Therapy with Honours, with a minor in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University. She also received her Masters of Music and Health Sciences (MA) from the University of Toronto and has advanced training in Neurologic Music Therapy. Dorothy is on the Board of Directors for the Music Therapy Association of Ontario (MTAO) as Public Relations Chair and Web Admin. She maintains musical competence on voice, piano, and guitar.
Dorothy has clinical experience working with various client populations, including older adults in long-term care and community groups, children and adolescents with developmental delays and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and providing rehabilitative programs for patients with neurological disorders. She is passionate about providing music therapy services for people of all ages and abilities with compassion, mutual respect, and quality work.
